Simply Horrifying

How many times do catastrophes like this have to happen before we cast aside our hubris and realize that we are nothing in the face of nature?

  1. It once seemed humorous but the frog in the pot of boiling water seems an apt metaphor for this sort of thing. We become accustomed to these reports, viewing them with mild interest as the latest curiosity, but, until they achieve a critical mass of probability, we won't be willing to pay the cost of effective measures - not until it's too late.
