  1. My comment is actually a request for clarification. When you say "notably absent", do you mean those are still protected or not? These are hugely important waterways, both for wildlife and more southern aquafers which impact human habitation...

    1. My understanding, Anon, is that they are no longer protected under the Navigable Waters Protection Act. According to rabble.ca,

      The Ecojustice legal backgrounder highlights that significant rivers in British Columbia, such as Kitimat and Upper Fraser rivers which lie along Northern Gateway pipeline, are not included in the Schedule of ‘protected waters.’
